Web Panels in SOWin - the window names have changed format

Hi there,

A change in SO 8.3 has caused us some problems with navigation and communication between web panels in SuperOffice Windows

Steps to reproduce:

Unzip and save this html file to a web site on your intranet

  1. Add a new web panel definition:
  2. Open SuperOffice Windows 8.3 and go to the web panel, click the text and it will alert “windowname”
  3. In earlier versions of SuperOffice it will alert “browserpanel.windowname”

It is these window names (target names) that we use to control navigation between different web panels

Is the change by design – in which case we need to start targeting the new web panels without the “browserpanel.”

Or is the change a bug that will get fixed in the next version?

Cheers James

RE: Web Panels in SOWin - the window names have changed format

Hi James,

I am afraid I broke this on Jan 27 2018. The prepended Navigation (target) contexts were wrongly removed from a method.
I have added a bug:

tfs 59320: Win: Web Panels in SOWin - the window names have changed format

I will fix this now.
Win has 8.3 R02 going out at present.
But there will be no R03 for the Win client.
Next planned release for the Win client is R04 which I believe will be after the summer.

Conrad
