Difference between Relation List "Select Relations" for Project and "Select Project"

HI,

In Screen I have implemented new Relation-List with Select Relations to list all Projects which Stats is not closed (idex=4):

and it works fine with defined two display fields, criterias, Order, I give Searchwords "superoffice", press the Enter-key,  and see correct list in my results:

Now Our User ask to get results with Live-Search, that means the results shows without to press the Enter-Key, like earlier I set the Relation-List to select Project:

Here I have defiend the same criteria, Order as above, but in Results it shows me all Projects which status is closed with that same search words, and no second display-field:

How could I combine both advantages in one relation-List?

Thanks!

Hi, is there feedbacks? my question in other words, is possible to customize the list of Project-Relation with self-defined disply-fields, criteria and Order by?

Thanks!

Hi,

Different elements have different configuration options so unfortunately it is not possible to use same configuration on both these.

Hi Michel,

Thanks. then how could I configure the List to Project-Relation for my Disply-Fields, criteria, Order by?

Or How could i get Live Search (without Press Enter-key) in List to Relations?

One of both will be my Solution.

Thanks!

RE: Difference between Relation List "Select Relations" for Project and "Select Project"

Hi,

Select Project works like any other MDO list, so it does not give any additional options for changing how data is presented or which data is returned.

Perhaps you could look into creating a listbox which you fill with data (formatted the way you want), but be careful if you have alot of projects it might affect performance since you need to populate listbox with all projects.

Not sure there are any quick solutions to your problem.

RE: Difference between Relation List "Select Relations" for Project and "Select Project"

Hi Michel,

Thanks for your Suggestion.

Just the Listbox-Field are based on String-Field to Ticket, so any later if the item of Listbox updated (here Project name), then we get problem to update it automatically in the existing Tickets with that item. As we discussed in this Thread,  We have Reporting-apps to get monthly tickets Reports searched by each Criteria (also here by Project) for our billing to customers. So if one Project name changed by user, we will lost to find its Tickets in Reporting Tools. Thast's why I prefer use relations-List then Listbox since here the ID of item not the String was connected to Ticket fields.

But thanks for your Solution. I will keep to use Relations-List for Project. Sometimes we must weigh up by self.

Hi,

still one new Problem to List select Relations:

If an existing Ticket has field to the List item from relations which should not be displayed by Criteria, here for example the Projects with closed Status should not be listed, then by editing the Ticket, this field is no more editable:
