Possible to choose which request categories are listed in the new form field for category?

The new form field for request categories lists all categories you have in the system. Is it possible to select which ones you want the customer to be able to choose from in the dropdown in the form? As it is now, the customer can get a list of several hundres if you have that many categories in your Services instance.

And I've noticed that categories and subcategories are mixed. So if you have several categories with the same name but under different main categories, the customer will not now which one to choose (for example, "Report a problem" under different regional categories). Is it supposed to be like this?

Hi Patrik,

Field on forms are utilizing same logic as for standard "New request" form on customer center, it will show all categories that are marked as external categories. General idea is that customers can have more categories available for agents, but would like to limit choices for end customer. It will display as one flatlist, not build up hierarchy in one single dropdown. 

If you have multiple sub-categories with same name, could I suggest that you use external name attribute on category to make list more clear for end customer.

Alternatively you can also create your own custom "New request" form by editing customer center source files, and implement your own category chained dropdown.
