How do you partially cripple the e-mail functionality in the SO 8.4 R04 GUI - Windows client

Hi Everybody,

  How do you partially cripple the e-mail functionality in the SO 8.4 R04 GUI - Windows client

 

  We have a big problem in our SuperOffice 8.4 R04.
  The problem is that if we click the e-mail button on a company card then it will take the e-mail address of the previous company card.

 

   We have gotten our e-mail button removed / hidden / crippled, but that has also crippled the mailto: functionality of just clicking on a e-mail.

  My question is therefore: How do we remove the e-mail button without removing the mailto: feature of clicking on an e-mail?

Not sure I understand. What is the E-mail button on company card
What have you Crippled and how.

There is no partial crippling.
Also, when you hide a panel from the navigator, internally this is implemented as a sort of sentry. This is a debatable implementation but a choice that was made due to time.

With the advent of orphans (a contact with no company, or a person record whose contact_id=0), the current system has become slightly more complicated.
But I believe that as far a e-mails are concerned, we first look into the current person and only fall back to the current contact if the current person has no e-mail address. Something like that... But if you switch to an orphan, the current contact will not be cleared!

  Thanks for your feedback

  We have crippled the e-mail button in the
  SuperOffice Sales & Marketing 8.4 R04 Windows client.
  The reason for doing so is a bug in the SuperOffice Sales & Marketing 8.4 R04 Windows client,
  that will send e-mail to the previous company card.

  E.g we select a company card and click the e-mail button, then an e-mail will be sent to that
  company's e-mail. We select another company card and click the e-mail button, then the e-mail
  will be sent to the first / previous company's e-mail address.

  We have disabled / crippled the e-mail button using the ordinary setting in the
  SuperOffice Admin module.

Just a little add-on information:

The error is "only" on the company card, NOT on the contact / person card.

The current system issue is fixed in a later version.
I cannot reproduce this in our latest 8.5
Much has happened to the current system since the advent of orphans.
There is no way to partially cripple.
