Publish a set of dashboard to users in SuperOffice

Hi

I've made some dashboard in SuperOffice showing data for an external URL, now I world like to publish these dashboard to all users in SuperOffice, and prevent the users from changing the published configuration.

I've found in below link that dashboard files are saved in the table crm7.binaryobject, is that the only way to publish a dashboard to multiple users or is there a more GUI friendly way to do it?

 
My concern is, that it will become difficult to commit future changes to the dashboard setup, (adding new ones for example) without having to overwrite the configuration directly in the database - especially when the customer will be migrated to online in a near future.

Installing a custom dashboard is not supported in SuperOffice CRM.

Hi Tony, to elaborate on this - Kim is not referring to custom dashboards per say - he's referring to the standard dashboards in SuperOffice, and how to make a standard configuration of the dashboards to push to each user - as far as i know you can configure a tile to be available for other users, but you can't configure the dashboard to use this tile as a default for all users, without having to manually mess with the binaryobject table, or letting the user configure each dashboard with the shared tiles manually.

So i hope that made more sense. So back to the question - is it possible to setup a standard TILE configuration of the STANDARD dashboards in SuperOffice without having to mess around in the database - as this would be problematic the moment the customer migrates to online :)

You can use the DashboardAgent to programmatically push Dashboard(tiles) to users.

So we've tried moving forward with the DashboardAgent - unfortunately NSDashboardAgent is not available in CRMScript for some reason? :(

 

Any idea when / if it will become available?

If I test the NSDashboardAgent, I get the following error

"Cannot create variable of this type: NSDashboardAgent"

Seems I must adjust my answer, some agents are not enabled for use in CRMScript even though they are part of SDK documentation.

Same result as Kasper - so i went with a simple yet very ugly windows forms application that ended up doing the trick - which was easy as long as they are running the on premise version - please unlock that api for use in crm script, the other blocked api's makes good sense to why they are blocked, but this one seems kind off harmless compared to the other ones....

Following up on this thread... with a twist and asking 'What's new' in terms of plans. The idea of a toolset or approach that can be handled by a customer's 'SuperUser' if you will to be able to push dashboard designs to a larger set of users. (ie not relying on toolsets that require fairly specialized tools/knowledge akin to what Dennis mentioned in last post. Have a contact or 3 that is asking.. frequently, about this.

I am not aware of any plans to augment our API's to enable more access, or create different configuration options, to dashboards.

Actually, we do have some ideas on how this could be done.

I'm afraid I can't promise anything, but we will evaluate this in the second half of 2020...
