Sentry error: "Read-only when contact belongs to a company" when creating a new associate

Hi everybody. A customer was recently upgraded to 8.5 R5, and receives an error when trying to create a new associate from the Settings and maintenance screen:

 

"Read-only when contact belongs to a company"

 

However, if i login with a system user, there's no issue. The associate trying to create the new associate is User level 0, and haven't had any problems previously.

 

Any suggestions why Sentry would have a problem like this?

Is the user able to create a normal Person or Company?

Just tried creating a person on the owner company (emulating what settings and maintenance does), which worked just fine.

Is it possible to still test in the old environment, to see if the issue is related to the upgrade or not?

As mentioned in the first post, there was no problems before the upgrade. They were running 8.0 SR4.

The old environment is not accessible anymore, but i'm quite confident it wasn't a problem before.

Does the company where the associate is created under have a valid 'our contact' associate specified?
