Two Factor Authentication - SuperOffice Web Client

Has anyone used a solution and can a solution be offered to offer two factor authentication for logging into SuperOffice either in Priavte Cloud of SuperOffice Hosted Cloud?

We have a requirement to be able to offer this in our solution as part of a tender we are preparing for a client and this is a key requirement.

Any advice our guidance would be appreciated.

RE: Two Factor Authentication - SuperOffice Web Client

Hi Tony,

Unfortunately, I am not aware of any solution. I think that with the OnPremise environment this is doable for the main "Login page" but its probably not doable for the WebTools and Maillink.

Georg

I have a client interested in this functionality also and suspect that most clients would like this option particularly with GDPR fast approaching.

From my research I have not been able to find any way to do this apart from Margrethes example with G Suite for SuperOffice online.

Thanks for the feedback Margrethe, can Office365 be used on an on premiise version also? or is it hosted SuperOffice only?

RE: Two Factor Authentication - SuperOffice Web Client

Hello,

We have set up a look-alike (it has nothing to do with SuperOffice) with a NetScaler.
In short we used the 2factor in NetScaler to authenticate the user before reaching the SuperOffice login-page, and if i remember correctly we even made it work with SSO so that it 'looks like' a 2factor-authentication.

If you want to do this then i recommend setting up an extra netserver for webtools/maillink, which is not a part of the netscaler/2factor-setup, and just configure them to use this address instead of the 'web-address'.

Its a hassle to make it work as it should, and it's not supported by SuperOffice, so there might be bugs around we havent seen yet..

Thanks for the tip, Eivind!

I will present your solution to our customer and see what they think. They're business is in IT consultancy so they should be able to set this up themselves, with a little added SuperOffice competence from me :-)

Best regards,

Jan

RE: Two Factor Authentication - SuperOffice Web Client

Any news on nativ support for 2-factor authentication?

This would be solution that would work for customers having Office 365 / Azure
----

MS-APP Proxy

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/manage-apps/application-proxy

----

Use as a proxy server and then ad AD-Authentication on the /sales application.
That would let users authenticated on their machine to access the application as usally other users must first enter a valid Azure-AD login to get to the SO login page.

And if 2 factor authentication is activated for Azure - AD I guess that it would be possible to , int he APP-proxy to actuallt reuquire 2-factor auth per appliaction.
