No email when request submitted via form

A customer told me that their customers did not recieve an email when they submitted a request via their SO form. Is there a setting we have missed or do we have to use triggers/scripts to send an mail to the email who submitted the request?

You can set up an action that they receive an email;

Yes, but that is not the email Service sends out with the request number etc. you get if you send in a request by email to Service.

For this you need to use a trigger. As far as I know there is no such setting that could actiavate this.
