HTC Sensation XE- Android 2.3.4 - Pocket CRM 7

Hi,

anyone experience with Pocket CRM 7.0 on HTC Sensation XE or any other Android 2.3.4 phone?

On a Pocket installation (where iPhones are doing OK) I cannot install through the /dl website (nothing happens), and after manual installing the APK file the Pocket CRM splash screen is stalled in 'loading configuration...'.

Pocket CRM 7.0.1, netserver 7.0.4265.1600

Thanks,

Rob

Do you have activated that Adroid allows to install apps "not from the Android market"?

By manual installation, did you mean manual copy the APK to the phone or picked manual in dhe /dl ?

Asking this since you where also saying that nothing happend on the /dl.

I just installed pocketcrm 3.0 on a androind 2.3.6 phone with out anny problems.

Manual install: in this case starting the APK with an Android file manager. App seems installed but hangs.

FYI: I doublechecked with a HTC Desire (Android 2.2.2), works like a charm (and this is a bit annoying, since the Sensation is mine and the Desire belongs to my wife).

Hi,

I'm experiencing the same problem with a Pocket installation and I'm using the same Pocket and Netserver as you are. Have tested with several different Android phones and it works perfectly except for this phone:

HTC Sense 3.0

Android version 2.3.4

Hi Mikael, which phone do you have?

I tested with HTC HD with Andriod 2.3.5 and HTC Sense 3.0 and didn't get any problems. I tested from SuperOffice server (v7.1.2) and from my test server (7.0.1) and in both cases Pocket installed from /dl site as normal.

Which internet browser do you use? I use the standard phone browser, nothing else is installed.

Go to http://whatsmyuseragent.com it will tell you the browser you have. My says:

Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.5; en-au; HTC_DesireHD_A9191) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1

I didn't make any changes to the browser settings, I have these options ticked:

Load pictures

Block pop-up windows

Mobile content

Allow JavaScript

Allow Cookies

and a few more.

Have you tried in any other browser, like Opera?

Hi,

The phone is a HTC Sense 3.0 with Android version 2.3.4.

We are using the standard web browser in the phone and have NOT installed any other browser.

We can connect to other sites and download content that isn't from Android MArket without any problems.

I will try http://whatsmyuseragent.com when I get in touch with the customer again.

Hi,

I have seen this problem on some Android devices regardless of their version number.
The solution has been in all cases to install another browser than the stock one.

Install for instance Dolphin browser and have a try :-)

RE: HTC Sensation XE- Android 2.3.4 - Pocket CRM 7

Hi,

Solved. Not a problem originating from the phone or Pocket CRM, but APN settings from the Dutch provider KPN.

First, if download fails use Dolphin Browser as suggested.

Then, for the Dutch using KPN:

Create new APN:
name: internet
username: KPN
password: gprs

all other settings default:
proxy: <niet ingesteld>
port: <niet ingesteld>
server: <niet ingesteld>
mmsc: <niet ingesteld>
mms-proxy: <niet ingesteld>
mms-port: <niet ingesteld>
mms protocol: wap 2.0
mcc: 204
mnc: 08
verification type: PAP
APN-type: <niet ingesteld>

Activate this APN, reset data connection by disabling and enabling and it works.

Regards,

Rob Jansen
