We would like only to use the SharePoint integration for our document templates.

Thank you for reaching out.
No - only storing the templates and not the files created based upon those same templates - is not possible.
Once you configure the SharePoint integration - files created, will be stored in SharePoint - even though your templates are localted in CRM Online after configure to use SharePoint.
- To move existing templates (and or some of your existing document) stored in CRM Online - you also need the 'SharePoint Documents Migration' feature:
To get your SuperOffice templates in SharePoint:
- The SO admin must configure to use SharePoint
- The SO admin must sign up to join the Pilot Program for 'SharePoint Documents Migration'
- The SO admin must set up and run a migration job - this can be a single test-file - as when one or more documents are moved, all of the templates will also be moved.
Then all templates, all files chosen to migrate (in step #3) and all new files created will be stored in SharePoint.
Note: on step #1, the template-properties are changed for all templates - to store the file created in SharePoint. (This means the template-file itself is not moved in step #1, but in step #3 above.)
