What can I do to optimize my mailing message display as expected across the different e-mail clients?
SuperOffice mailing editor is a tool allowing to create e-mail messages that are displayed professionally across different solutions.
However, technological decisions made by different e-mail client providers might impact the design quality of the message sent from SuperOffice CRM.
For example, Microsoft Outlook uses Microsoft Word to render HTML emails. Microsoft Word is mainly built to accommodate the print design and attempts to render HTML as it would look in print preview. This sometimes causes an inaccurate display of some message elements.
SuperOffice mailing editor provides a fair indication of how an email will appear in Outlook, but we would encourage you to follow the recommendation below to optimize the design of your mailing message.
- Set up some test accounts on the main e-mail clients used by your recipients and use these accounts to test message layout.
- Before sending your mailing out, test it on these accounts by using the Test Mailing feature in SuperOffice.
- Go through the checklist of items to confirm the overall quality of your mailing:
- That template variables are replaced with customer data. This means, for example, that you see "Hi John" and not "Hi [[customer.firstname]]".
- That links work and point to the correct pages.
- Clicks on links are registered in SuperOffice Marketing.
- The opening of messages is registered in SuperOffice Marketing.
- That the images are correctly displayed. We recommend resizing original images before uploading them to SuperOffice CRM.
- The layout of messages looks good.
- That the messages are up-to-date (dates/years, names, version numbers, etc.) and do not contain spelling mistakes/typos.
- Make sure the mailing is easy to read on a smartphone or tablet. See Customise the message for display on mobile devices.
