Why does it happen and how do I fix it?
There are three known solutions on how to fix this error:
Note! Before Web Tools versions 11 redemption.dll was called soredemption.dll
Correct the folder path to redemption.dll
To fix the incorrect path to redemption.dll please follow the steps below:
- Open the Windows Registry Edit by typing "Regedit" in the search bar on your computer.
- Click on the Edit and the Find buttons
- In the search dialog type redemption.dll
- Make sure that all the references to redemption.dll are pointing to the correct folder structure.
Note! Incorrectly editing a registry can permanently damage your computer or server (if you work on Citrix/Terminal Server), so do not delete or adjust any key if you don't know specifically why you do it. We recommend to back up the Windows registry before making any change. You can find instructions on how to do it in this article.
Try to re-register the redemption.dll
To re-register redemption.dll follow the steps below:
- Open the Command Prompt, also known as "CMD" by clicking the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner of the screen and typing "CMD".
- In the CMD navigate to path %superofficefolder%\MailLink
- Then type in regsvr32 Redemption.dll This command will re-register dll.
Repair or reinstall MS Office
If the suggestions above did not help, please try to:
- Try to use the Repair function in Microsoft Office. Please read a Microsoft article Repair an Office application to learn more about it.
- If Office repair did not help, please try to reinstall Microsoft Office application.
