Why is the 'Merge companies' button greyed out when I try to merge companies?
Updated on 12 Jun 2025I try to merge two company cards, but the button 'Merge companies' is greyed out. Why is this happening and what can I do to solve this?

There are four possible reasons why you're not allowed to merge company cards:
1. Your role does not have the functional right to merge entities. A SuperOffice administrator see this in the Setting and maintenance module in the Roles tab.
2. Your role does not have 'Delete' data rights for both companies you intend to merge. You can see this in the Setting and maintenance module in the Roles tab.

3. The target company for merging is an internal company. This includes your own company and any other companies listed under 'Our companies'. 'Our companies' cannot be merged via the user interface.

4. The company or contact being merged has an active ERP connection to another system. These companies cannot be merged as long as they have an active connection to the 3rd party application.
