How do I enforce a strong password policy in SuperOffice CRM onsite?

Updated on 23 Mar 2022

We want to make sure that all SuperOffice CRM users create strong passwords. How do I do it in SuperOffice CRM onsite?

A strong password policy in SuperOffice CRM can be enforced by setting a system preference. To do it, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log in Settings & Maintenance.

  2. Click on the Preferences (1) button, choose System (2), select Password policy (3) and click on the Add (4) button.

  3. In the Password policy field in the pop- up screen fill in your requirements for a strong password. You can use these parameters:

    •    MinTotal = minimum length of password
    •    MinNum = digits 0 to 9
    •    MinLC = minimum number of lowercase characters
    •    MinUC = minimum number of UPPERCASE characters
    •    MinSpec = minimum number of special characters such as !@#$%^&*(){}[]
    •    Msg = define a message the user will receives when the password does not fulfill the requirements, instead of a standard system message. Undefined values default to 0.

Note! The maximum length of the preference with all parameters and the confirmation message cannot exceed 99 symbols.

If you use only the Service module, a strong password policy can be enforced by following the steps below:

  1. Click on the  (1) button, then on System (2) and open the Password (3) tab.

  2. Here you can set up your requirements for strong passwords.

From version SuperOffice 8.5 user password policy is set in Settings and Maintenance Preferences Global Preference tab.

Note! A password policy can be enforced only in SuperOffice Onsite installation, please read this forum for more information.
