Our Facebook integration and Cambridge Analytica

Facebook is currently making changes to their API after the Cambridge Analytica scandal. This means that the Facebook integration that is part of our tests is no longer working, and for any customer/partner who have not used this in a while or try to set it up now. We are unsure if and how it affects sites that have been in use all the time.

To our test site they are currenlty sending back this message on all webhooks instead of the actual wall message:

https://developers.facebook.com\status\issues\205942813488872

"Access to this data is temporarily disabled for non-active apps or apps that have not recently accessed this data due to changes we are making to the Facebook Platform. Learn more here: https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2018/03/cracking-down-on-platform-abuse/"

Since they are also not doing reviews of apps at the moment, "due to changes in the Facebook API" we are unable to make a fix for the issue at this time.

Are there many of you out there using this integration?

Hi,

It has become a lot more difficult get Facebook data through their API's. Amongst other things, they now require you to submit a request to allow your app to fetch data including a video capture of what it should do. Furthermore, getting non-anonymized information seems to be prohibited.

All in all, we don't see how we can deliver a useful FB integration to our customers with todays procedure/architecture. I believe we would have to create a centralized service here which would work as a messaging hub between our customers' FB accounts and our customers' SuperOffice installations. Obviously, creating such a service is not done over night.

So, unfortunately, our current resopnse is that it is not possible to configure Service to be integrated with Facebook. Sorry.
