Hello,

We have a case where the city field is not filled in automatically when we enter the zip-code.
The issue is described here:
https://crm.superoffice.com/scripts/customer.fcgi?_sf=0&action=viewKbEntry&id=112933#3

After version 8.1 the .imp-files found in the server-installation is no longer used, and i found this here on devnet:
"The old impfiles may contain old data and importing it to an upgraded database may overwrite data that have been updated with a dictionary step during database upgrade."

Can we still create our own .imp-files and import them or will that break something?
Is it no longer a supported? Is there an alternative way of solving this?

Hi Eivind,

You can still create and deploy your own imp files, but I'm unaware if dbsetup supports that anymore. I don't think so.

I beleive they must be applied via a dictionary step. I wrote about the requirements, structure and options in this Continuous Database article. I wrote a follow-up article that detailed how to simplify deployment of Dictionary Steps...  but that's all there is.

Best regards.
